Dr. Guven Kiymaz is an Assistant Professor at Florida Polytechnic University and leads the Structural Rack Systems Research Group. He specializes in steel storage racks, cold-formed steel, and structural steel design, and serves as the main point of contact for industry partners in Florida seeking training and research collaboration. 

​​Undergraduate and graduate students assist with finite element modeling, data collection and processing, experimental testing, and literature reviews. Their involvement allows the group to tackle larger, more applied problems in collaboration with industry, while also providing students with hands-on research experience in structural steel and storage rack systems.

Professor Teoman Pekoz is internationally recognized as a pioneer in cold-formed steel structures and steel storage rack design. Over many years I have had the privilege of collaborating with him, and his mentorship has played a major role in shaping my professional development and research interests in cold-formed steel and rack systems. Although now retired from active academic duties, his fundamental contributions and visionary ideas continue to guide our work and inspire both myself and my students in the Structural Rack Systems Research Group.
